Gregory Redmon Obituary

Gregory Alan Redmon, 76, of Delphos, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Shawnee Manor in Shawnee, Ohio. He was born on March 4, 1948, in Gomer, Ohio, to Bert and Nina (Griffith) Redmon, who preceded him in death.

Gregory graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School in 1966 and was initially employed at General Motors in Defiance. He then joined the U.S. Army, where he served his country with distinction, stationed in Germany and later in Vietnam with the 3rd of the 4th Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division. He was wounded for the third time on March 12, 1969.

Gregory married Kathryn Lynn Pavel on May 10, 1969. She was his first love and partner in early life. He later married Donna Gail Metz and then Michelle Lynn Myers.

He is survived by his six sons: James (Cindy) Redmon, Bert P. (Shelly) Redmon, Desmond (Misty) Redmon, Patrick (Jeanie) Redmon, Jeremy Redmon, and Jonathan (Kendra) Redmon. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: five grandsons, Gregory, Dylan, Alexander, Cody, and Darren; six granddaughters, Caitlin, Victoria, Maggie, Nora, Gwyn, and Elliot; and one great-grandson, Sasha Redmon.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with Pastor Tom officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call during the Viewing which will be held from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Wounded
Gregory A. Redmon son of Mr. and Mrs Bert Redmon, Delphos, is recuperating in Valley Forge General Hospital, PA, from leg injuries received March 11 in Vietnam after being hit by enemy gunfire while serving as a gunner on a helicopter. He has received his third Purple Heart and will be hospitalized for six or seven months. He is at BCD Valley Forge General Hospital, Phoenixville, Pa 19460.
