Jim Mouser, SP/5, Aero-Rifle, Slick Door Gunner, Truck Driver.... Jim came to slicks from the Aero-Rifles, He was my Door Gunner for lots of Hours....One day while flying over the Filhol trying to get to a Chinook that got shot down; we took some hits, Jimmy got a really close "shave" under his chin, he was damned lucky !! The round burned him really good but did not draw any blood that I recall . A gook in a hole zipped up our belly as we flew over. Luckily it did only damage to the airframe and not to flight controls. It did nick the fuel line, but no leaks .So he decided that was enough of being a door gunner.
Top made him drive the damned water truck ! At least we had shower water ! Thanks Jimmy !!
Jim and I communicate every so often. He is a Pleasure Boat Captain and pilots big ass fancy Yachts for Millionaires in the Gulf of Mexico.....JN
