"JC" was Centaur 15, LOH Scout Pilot, 1969 to 1970. He flew the C&C slick and transferred to the LOH platoon about the same time Andy Elliott did.

Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Freddy Carnathan (Tampa, Florida), who passed away on October 17, 2021 at the age of 74. Family and friends can send flowers and condolences in memory of the loved one. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James F. Carnathan to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his mother Leila Mai; and his siblings, Patricia Ann and Billy Joe. He is survived by : his son Brian; his grandson David; his siblings, Ben (Penny) and Cindy (Mike); his uncle Fred; and his friends, Jimmy, Bill, Eric and Billy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A committal service was held on Monday, October 25th 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513).

Other Notes:

Eric Brethen: Before coming to us "JC" was the personal pilot for the Commander of the 25th Aviation Battalion but transferred to Centaurs because he wanted to serve in combat. His family and friends have always called him Freddy, his middle name, he hated the name James and in the Army it evolved into J.C.
