I was a Cobra pilot. However, when I got to F Troop, they already had too many Snake Jockeys and ‘Little Bird’ drivers so I had to go to the ‘Slick’ Platoon. I became an Aircraft Commander shortly after arrival and after one night flight with Dennis Yenser, became the ‘Nighthawk’ pilot. So, although I am a Cobra pilot, I flew ‘Slicks’ in F Troop.
