Obituary
Johnny Ray “Cotton” Trotter, age 66, of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

The family will received friends on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services were Monday, May 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Edgil Grove Baptist Church, he will laid in state from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Hancel Cox officiated.
Mr. Trotter was preceded in death by his Father-James Claybourn Trotter; Mother-Mary Trotter; Father-in-law-Norman Kilgore; Mother-in-law-Martha Kilgore; 1 Sister and 4 Brothers.
He is survived by his Wife-Linda Trotter; Sons-Jeremy Trotter (Jennifer) and Johnathan Trotter (Misty); Sisters-Marie Boyd, Sharon Lawson and Diane Aaron; Brother-J.C. Trotter; Grandchildren-Katelyn Trotter, Ashley Pitts, Chase Inman, Samantha Sargent and Emily Sargent. By Lynn McMillen

Mike Peake comments on Johnny's Swordfish photo:This would have been late 72. Seems I recall he caught this on the ocean side while in a small boat. Light indicates this isn't long after sunrise so he had been out at lower tide. The hutch in the left background was the communications/flight center. The gentleman to the right MAY have been the Korean who operated club/shops/cat house on the station.

 

LinRiniker: Tom Sackett (acting SGT) joined us in Long Binh in March, shortly before the deployment north. I remembered this because he and I were driving the section Mule on the way out to check out an aircraft with rocket pod issues when we hit a bump and the rocket pod test set bounced off the mule and we ran over it. Had to go back to the old method of using a multimeter.
